Taste: These pretzels broke the pretzel formula by taking regular smallish knotted pretzels and adding some sort of seasoning to them, rather than just salt. One look inside the bag was enough to see that there was clearly something more on the surfaces than just salt. Unfortunately, that seasoning pretty well covered up the taste of the pretzels while adding a taste that few of our tasters liked. What did it taste like? Hard to say. I thought I could maybe taste lime (thought it wasn't in the ingredients) along with lots of other things, and somehow this seasoning just didn't go well with beer — which sort of defeats the purpose of pretzels!

Review: Pretzel Crisps Mint Chocolate Crunch

Taste: As a mint chocolate addict who likes pretzels too, it took me approximately no time flat to decide to buy this bag after I spotted it on the shelf. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that the actual coated pretzels looked almost nothing like the picture on the bag. The bag showed pretzels heavily coated in bright green (so thick that you couldn't see the pretzel through it) with many small chocolate pieces stuck onto each pretzel. The actual pretzels had a very uneven green coating that you could see through, with about one-tenth as many chocolate pieces. The appearance didn't really matter much, as these were still quite good, with a nice mint taste and some salty pretzelness to taste as well. The lack of much chocolate didn't help, but it wasn't a real problem either, as creamy mint worked well on its own. The coated pretzels had a softer crunch than the regular non-coated varieties of the flattened Pretzel Crisps, but these still tasted very good. As for presentation, a limited-edition holiday flavor like this would be great to put out at a party if they looked like the ones in the picture, but looking like they did, not so much.

Taste: This multi-layer package started on the outside with a paper/foil wrapper (I had different colors to pick from, but it appeared all were the same milk chocolate flavor), which covered an open-ended cardboard tube, which held a foil bag. After dismantling the package, the loose cardboard roll closely resembled the cardboard inside a roll of toilet paper, so I got one and compared. This roll was a bit longer and had a slightly smaller diameter. With all of the elaborate packaging and the words "chocolate flavored wafers" hidden pretty well in black ink on the blue foil, I was expecting some sort of chocolate cookies. But I was surprised to find that the bag didn't contain cookies at all, but things that were sort of like flattened Hershey's Kisses. They had a similar shape, with a round, flat bottom of about the same diameter and a pointy middle, but each one rose to about half of the height of Kisses. They also were not individually wrapped like Kisses. The taste was very good, as they were hard to stop eating, and the lack of individual wrappers made it easier to eat a whole bunch of Flicks in rapid succession. There wasn't any problem at all with pieces sticking together.

Review: Hot-Headz Inferno Habanero Chili Extremely Hot

Taste: These potato chips had very wiggly shapes and a brownish look to them, sort of like dark Russet chips, except that the much of the darkness came from a heavily applied seasoning. After reading the heat hype on the bag, we were expecting some extremely serious habanero heat. Crunching into the first chip, there was a great crispness, nice crunch and really tasty mix of potato and seasonings ? but not any heat just yet. The heat arrived in the aftertaste, as it gradually increased in intensity to a reasonably strong level, with a very nice habanero burn. The heat was indeed hotter than the Chipotle Mustard chips from Hot-Headz, but still, the warnings on the bag were a bit overblown, as we've had several chips that were quite a bit hotter, and these didn't bring anybody to tears.

Taste: These triangular tortilla chips looked pretty much like Doritos, with a similar shape, color and texture (all of which I could see prior to my purchase decision, thanks to the transparent bag), but it was the promise of a "hot nacho" flavor that made me decide to buy. As it turned out, there was far more heat than nacho cheese flavor, as there was a mild heat to start that grew fairly strong after a few chips. The chips were crisp, and the mix of heat and cheese was very tasty. Good chips.

Taste: This mix of Skittles had five different varieties, each combining two different flavors together, and all five kinds ended up tasting quite good. The green pieces were Watermelon Green Apple Freeze, and the apple taste dominated at first, but after that I could definitely taste some watermelon. The red ones were Cherry Tropicolada, and even though I'm not a cherry fan, I liked the mix of cherries with sweet tropical fruits. The peach-colored pieces were Mango Lemonade Freeze; I noticed the mango at first, then the lemonade, and it worked well together. The blue ones were Melon Berry Burst, and the mix of berries was fairly intense and tasty. Finally, the pinkish ones wee Strawberry Lime Blast; they didn't taste much like strawberry or lime to me, but I still liked the taste.

Taste: This large chocolate bar had a 4x6 section grid, with sort of an 8-pointed flower petal pattern on top of each section. As with the previous milk chocolate bar from IKEA that we reviewed, Mj?lkchoklad, this was very good milk chocolate, as it was rich, intense and creamy. IKEA sells these bars at a low price, but they're really quite good.

Taste: These chocolate-covered snack cake rolls promised to be a bit different from the usual devil's-food-and-creme snacks like Yodels, as they were supposed to be a have an additional pineapple flavor. I opened the package to find two rolls, each a little bit longer than a Yodel. They were different from the ones pictured on wrapper in multiple ways. First, they were more oval, sort of flattened, rather than round. Second, and most importantly, the pictured showed some yellow filling in addition to the white, but in the actual cakes, I didn't see any yellow. I couldn't taste much in the way of pineapple either, but there was maybe a little, as something altered the usual taste. Still, I liked these and ate both rolls very quickly.
